                                                                             Alteration 1. 

I altered this painting by removing the existing people and some ornaments and then inserting foreign people in. This is to achieve a completely new narrative of "sorrow", a funeral in a church.

Original Painting & Diagrammatic reading 

The atmosphere in the original painting on the left hand almost have a hopeful atmosphere in it. This is because of the use of people and their actions which convey the reconstruction of a worn down church. The analysis diagram shows my viewpoint of the painting in the analysis of a wrong perspective (where the people in the background is much smaller than what is meant to be in real life). Moreover, the categorised different types of people and what their actions are. I concluded that people changes the space in this specific painting, the adding or removing of people changes space to have a completely different atmosphere.

Alteration 1.

This cappricio has an atmosphere of a calm and peaceful city. I altered this cappricio by removing the smoke in the sky and the fire truck which they cause a very hectic and disturbed atmosphere.

Original Painting & Diagrammatic reading

The atmosphere in the original cappricio is a contradicting space with hope. The actions of humans in this cappricio is helping each other in the background but at the same time, the atmosphere in the foreground seems surprisingly calm and enjoyable. This is seen by the actions of people in the cappricio. 

However, what intrigues me is not much about the people but the use of etching techniques and strokes which is used to define changing materials, textures and mood. I characterised the different etching strokes and analysed the changes of strokes in correlation with materials and atmospheres. 

 removing the people actually working on the renovation. Atmosphere changes because there are no group of workers helping the one on the stairs.

 Adjusting the brightness in the background to be darker so looks less hopeful without the "light" . removing all the sculptures and paintings that act as ornaments. add a sword on the hand of the group of people in the foreground.

 Introducing foreign objects to create a new contemporary setting with a different atmosphere- still and silent

Experimenting on how people create a different atmosphere. Here, the atmosphere is crowded and noisy despite the lack of people present in the alteration.

The above is an experiment on creating new spaces, making the space smaller by the use of curtains and doors.

Removing people in the background and just leaving those in the foreground while leaving the smoke and fire. The atmosphere here is hopeless.

Changing the space by introducing new buildings and new people. The atmosphere feels like a more modern and peaceful neighbourhood

Experimentation with a completely new object. New houses but arranged in the original position. 

Continuation of the above where the people now change. The atmosphere is based in a modern urban neighbourhood.

Alteration and experimentation on materials and textures. I  render in the materials I  think it suppose to be based on my analysis diagram.
