Dirck van Delen_Architectural Capriccio with Jephthah and His Daughter. 1640 & Clerisseau Charles-Louis - Architectural Fantasy - OR-16926

Separation : I tried to create a clearly separation between two building and gender by extended the existing river.
Rain : The rain create the question of ' Why won't they be inside?"
Nephew : Adding a baby in between, i feel this could change the matter of discussion between King and his Daughter.
Position : I changed the position of the King and his Daughter to change the feeling of power.
Material : Replacement of marble could change the architectural style. And give a power to the picture.
Glass facade : To see a clearly separation between inside and outside.
Position : Changing the position of a drawing guy. Make it look like he's painting the portrait.
Grouping people together. Feel like there is a discussion going on.
Roof removal : Totally change how we review the space. The sky can be seen more and create more light into the space.
Dangerous : i bend the column a bit, to create the atmosphere of danger.
Walking to the river. Walking to the flow of nature.

  1. Seems the focus is on the people, changing their positions and activities changing the atmosphere of the image. I think it might be interesting to be a bit more drastic with your next changes. Introduce foreign imagery and turn the space into something completely different. It might also be interesting to zoom in to the arcades and create a new event in there. OR working with the large background and introduce a foreign typology (city etc) but using the same perspective.
