Dirck van Delen-"Beeldenstorm in een kerk"

ORIGINAL PHOTO: The painting depicts the helping of a church renovation.
The atmosphere is chaotic but hopeful. What I see here is the wrong perspective and scale of
people in the background.

ATTEMPT 1: changing the intensity of the foreground to be extremely dark

ATTEMPT 2: changing the scale of people in the background to be slightly bigger so they seem to be closer to the event
ATTEMPT 3: delete all the people in the background, leaving only the workers. The atmosphere is not that hopeful anymore.

ATTEMPT 4: removing the people actually working on the renovation. Atmosphere changes because there are no group of workers helping the one on the stairs.

ATTEMPT 5: Adjusting the brightness in the background to be darker so looks less hopeful without the "light" . removing all the sculptures and paintings that act as ornaments. add a sword on the hand of the group of people in the foreground.

ATTEMPT 6: Change the background to an exterior view.

  1. Very interesting!
You need to be more precise with your lasso tool and make the cuts with more care. That goes for the stamp tool also. It might be interesting to play with the introduction of a foreign program or use. And if you change the background, be more intentional. What do you want to create?
